#1 Reason Why Nature Inspires Me as a Makeup Artist

Finding Inspiration

Inspiration can be found anywhere that you are present and your eyes are open to discovering. What I mean is that wherever you are, you pay attention to whatever you focus your eyes on to see. Inspiration can even be found in the smallest of details, like the colour of an animal and the specific pattern of its fur.

This can be inspiring because it makes you wonder how those amazing intricacies of the animal came to be. You start to realize how beautiful that animal is because of its unique ability to bring such beauty into your life.

How to Become More Inspired

However, it can be difficult at first to incorporate such attention and appreciation to each little detail you see during your daily comings and goings. What I suggest, is to start small. Go for a walk in nature with your notebook in hand. Try to pick out a few things that speak to you in an inspiring way and write these things down in your notebook for reflection upon after your walk.

Once you get the hang of this process of picking out things that inspire you, it will get easier to become even more inspired during your day. What you will then begin to experience is the fullness and joy of seeing inspiration in those amazing little things in your life and the beautiful world around you.

Stay natural to get inspiration from nature.

The Inspiration Mindset

With this type of mindset, you can take your inspiration to the next level and up your creativity game. You can use your inspiration to create wonderful pieces of artwork, to write endless pages of beautiful words, or in my case, to create flawless makeup looks with the colours inside my inspiration.

The point is, to use your inspiration for your creative edge and see the beauty wherever you go, in whatever you do.

How Nature Inspires Me as an Aspiring Makeup Artist

-Here is a list of a few things that bring me the most inspiration and joy in my life:

Autumn Leaves: I love the way that leaves look when they change colours during the crisp autumn season and how the fine lines show so much detail on each leaf. I find it inspiring that no one leaf is the same, as each one is unique holding onto its true beauty.

Sunsets: Sunsets bring me so much joy when I look at them in the peaceful sky because of their wide array of beautiful and vibrant colour combinations.

The colour pink: I love the colour pink because inspires me in a way that helps me focus on what is most important to me. It makes me feel empowered to go after my goals/dreams in life as a girl boss building her empire. This colour also inspires me to be kind and compassionate toward my friends and family and to myself.

Tree trunks: Tree trunks have rough surfaces and various textures that inspire me to practice with different artistic mediums onto various types of surfaces to create my textures. I love how tree trucks look when you cut them in half because there are millions of rings telling us how old the tree has been alive. I love how the rings appear within the structure of nature.

Sparkling Water: The water of a lake or river can be calm or stormy and each occurrence brings an abstractness to life because it reflects off different colours outside of itself, depending on how fast it is moving and in what direction it goes in. The waves that water creates are cool and warm tones mixed in together.

The top of a wave is closer to the sun (warm-toned) and the bottom of a wave is closer to the bottom (cool-toned), which inspires me to not be afraid of trying new and vibrant colours in makeup artistry applications.

Nature is an extraordinary and exciting thing to behold when we get the chance to do so. Open your eyes and start to see where your mind wanders and where your inspiration takes you.

“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”
