Also, just because a product costs more doesn’t mean it is of better quality. Yes, higher-end beauty products cost more but ask yourself why. I find that both higher-end and more affordable products offer similar benefits, some more than others.

Sometimes, you get lucky and find a higher-end product that is well worth the investment but make sure you shop around first to find the highest quality product that is the best bang for your buck.

Read the label to find the ingredients in those products, read customer reviews, and try these on to see if their quality justifies the price.

Consider the product quality itself, then think about the price. If a product works well for what you need it for, then it is worth the money it costs to purchase.

Some Things to Consider:

• What type of activity will you be doing when wearing your makeup?
• How long will you be wearing your makeup for?
• Will you need to do any touch ups throughout the day?
• What is the formula like for your specific makeup products?
• What kinds of ingredients do these products contain?
• What is the consistency? Is it creamy, liquid, powdery, oily, light, heavy, etc.?

But How Do I Know If A Product Is Going to Give Me the Staying Power I Need?

To figure out how a product is going to give you your desired staying power, you must first consider all the above questions.

Once you have done this, you will want to approach a professional beauty counter or beauty boutique and ask the beauty advisor if you can try on a few makeup products that are based on your staying power needs.

When trying these products on, try to move around a bit, or move your face around (like you would when doing facial exercises).

What Do You Notice:

• Is the makeup staying in place or moving around?
• Does it separate or crack while on your face?
• Does it move around in one spot, but not others?

8 Tips to Enhacing the Staying Power of Your Makeup

If the makeup you tired on does not stay in place, then you will need to follow these steps to completion for best results.

1. First, prepare your skin with moisturizer and primer, before makeup application. (Make sure you have a solid skincare routine, based on the needs and type of your skin).
2. Select a foundation that doesn’t contain any oil, as oil tends to run down your face quicker (especially during the hot summer months).
3. Always apply any cream and liquid products before powders, if you do this in reverse, your makeup will look extremely cakey and uneven.
4. Set your cream or liquid foundation with either a light pressed face powder or fixing powder. I recommend the fixing powder because it is better formulated to keep you makeup in place for long hours.
5. Apply a minimal amount of eyeliner, try a waterproof-based liner (it will stay in place and won’t run down your face).
6. Spray on some hydrating setting spray to hydrate your skion after makeup application.
7. Try some blotting papers if you find your makeup is still not staying in place, then do a light touch-up afterword.
8. Prep your eyelids (with a tiny amount of eyeshadow primer) and carefully apply some eyeshadow, always make sure you are blending it in really well with a good blending brush.
