Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Oil Mist: Product Review

Finding products that help my dry and eczema-prone skin has been a hard challenge for me over the year, mostly because I haven’t been able to find one that works properly for me.

Usually, the lotions made by Aveeno don’t work for me because they don’t heal my skin the way I would like them to and they didn’t reduce the itch I had (associated with eczema), even though they claimed to be on their product labels.

That was until I bought this wonder product recently while searching for skincare products aimlessly at my local pharmacy. I was mostly interested in this product because it is new and I was intrigued to read about the ingredients contained in this product.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Oil

I would recommend that any time you see a new product on the shelf, and you are unsure about whether it will work for your skin and your needs or not, always read the ingredients listed on the back of the product.

These days with so many different types of allergies, you have to be cautious of any type of product, especially skincare products, as you will notice many food-like ingredients listed on the product label.

Other options are to seek out a referral to a professional allergist for allergy testing. You could also do a patch test by putting a small amount of the product onto the skin and waiting at least 24 hours to see if it causes a reaction.

Always avoid a product if you think it will cause an allergic reaction. It is better to be safe than to put something on your skin that you could potentially be allergic to.

This will help you determine if it will work for what you need it to do or not. This is also a great thing to do for those of you who may experience allergies because you will be able to read if you will be allergic to any of the ingredients in the product before you commit to a purchase.

What I found was this amazing miracle oil called “daily moisturizing mist” by Aveeno. I read the back of the product to inspect the ingredient list and I found that it contains jojoba oil, oat kernel oil and other skin-loving ingredients.

Main Ingredients in Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Oil Mist

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil works well for my dry skin because it is very moisturizing, hydrating, antioxidant, and soothing.

What I love best about jojoba oil is that it speeds up the time it takes my skin to heal. It is also one of the many ingredients known to help heal eczema-prone skin, acne and sunburnt skin.

Oat Kernel Oil

Oat kernel oil is another excellent ingredient for my skin because it strengthens the protective barrier, provides more moisture, reduces excessive dryness, and even reduces inflammation.

How to Apply this Moisturizing Oil to Your Skin

This amazing miracle skincare product comes in a spray, making it super easy to apply to your skin. All you need to do is spray it directly onto your skin one spray at a time.

I recommend rubbing or massaging it onto the skin so it can absorb a bit before applying more. Each time you spray it on your skin, be mindful that it may run, which is why I recommend you rub or massage it into your skin.

Results of Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Oil

First Application/Day One:

When you first spray this onto your skin, it feels very hydrating and has the consistency of soothing oil. It immediately begins to work by calming down inflammation and reducing excessive dryness.

After rubbing or massaging it into the skin, it feels softer to the touch and more nourished. I also notice a smoother feeling and fewer dry cracks in the skin once it absorbs.

Day Two:

On the second day after first trying this moisturizing oil, my skin still felt relatively soft and smooth to the touch. It also seemed to maintain more hydration in my skin, preventing trans epidermal water loss.

I tried massaging some of this oil onto the bottoms of my feet, where the dryness is most severe. I then put on a clean pair of socks immediately after to lock in the moisture overnight.

Day 3:

On the morning of day 3, I experienced most of the same results as well as, and my skin felt more hydrated than it did when I applied it to other areas.

When nighttime fell on day 3, I decided to apply more oil the same way I did on day 2, because I loved the immediate and visible results.

Day 4:

On day 4, I decided not to apply any of this oil to my skin to see how it would react. The results were less hydration but still felt soft and smooth to the touch. I did notice someone of my symptoms of dryness returning.

Day 5:

When I woke up on the morning of day 5, my skin felt super dry, mostly because I didn’t apply any of the oil the day before.

I learned this is because my skin craved the moisturizing oil so much that it was kind of lost without it, in a sense. Each time I did apply it to my skin, it absorbs quickly and I would sometimes need to apply more a second time.

My skin just soaked it all up and wanted more. Never had I treated my skin with such a loving and nourishing product as I did with the amazing oil.

The Importance of Daily Skincare Usage

Since my skin got noticeably drier and less hydrated when I didn’t apply any of this oil to my skin, I recommend anyone who wants to try this to do so every day.

You may or may not need to apply more than one spray to your skin, it depends on how dry it is and how well your skin responds to it.

I also want to mention that just because it worked for me, doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. I am merely sharing my experience with this in hopes that it will give you positive results.

I have spent a lot of money on a time-consuming trial and error of shopping for skincare products that will work for me. I’ve tried everything from lotions to creams and everything in between. I finally found a product that my skin loves.

The last thing I want to mention is that just because a skin care product is advertised as good for dry skin, or is very popular in the market, doesn’t mean it will necessarily work for your skin.

You must consider your skin type, conditions and all other factors that contribute to what your current skincare needs are. Everyone has individual needs, especially when it comes to skincare.

When you finally do have that sweet satisfaction of finding that one true product that your skin loves and heals it well, then you are on cloud 9.

I absolutely love Aveeno’s daily moisturizing oil and I hope it will work well for some of you too.
